What’s new on Netflix September 2018 and how to watch anywhere

Chris has a passion for helping you watch your favourite TV abroad. When he isn't helping you he can be found watching football, browsing Netflix or watching a good documentary.

September is looking like a great month for Netflix. There are tons of new movies and TV releases.

In this guide I’m going to delve into some of the best, teach you how you can watch them in any region and round-up the full list of new movies and TV shows this month.

The American Netflix website is the best for new releases but don’t worry if you’re not in America because there is a really simple way you can watch all the latest releases.

If you’re hyped for the September Netflix releases, read on!

Netflix Hot Releases for September

Like every month there are some amazing new movies and TV releases but there are also some that are less interesting. If you want to know the full list skip to the bottom of this article.

If you want to know what you shouldn’t miss this month then check out the best picks of the month below.

Black Panther – 4th September

Come on! Without question the movie that you’ll be dying to see this month is Black Panther.

It’s the movie that took the box office by storm. If you weren’t prepared to stump up the expensive cinema ticket price (and who can blame you) then you’ve probably been waiting to watch this one since the release.

I saw it on the big screen but it’ll be one I’ll be watching again on Netflix. Black Panther is the latest Marvel superhero movie. The difference being the cast is made up nearly entirely of black actors. If you’re a superhero fan and want to see something a bit different from the norm, don’t miss Black Panther on Netflix this month.

American Vandal Season 2 – 14th September

American Vandal hit Netflix last year and the first season received high praise across the internet. The second series will kick off in the same documentary fashion.

Nothing too serious here. Both characters Peter and Sam will be investigating ‘The Turd Burglar’ to find out who has been adding laxatives to the canteen food leading to a whole round of squirts for the kids.

If you’re after a chuckle and you enjoyed the first season, add this to your binge watch list this month.

The Breakfast Club – 1st September

Hitting Netflix on the very first day of September is the 1985 classic, The Breakfast Club. If you’re a fan of John Hughes movies or 80’s movies in general then this is one you don’t want to miss.

I’ve seen this maybe 15 times or more and it never fails to amuse. Set in your typical 80’s school with typical 80’s teenagers it has everything from romance to angst to music and more.

You’ll probably recognise most of the cast as they all went on to have successful careers in film. If you’re wondering what they’re up to now check out this 2017 CNN article.

How to watch American Netflix outside America

Most of the best new releases for September are on US Netflix. You’re likely to find that a lot of the newer content isn’t available if you’re in a different region.

The good news is you can use an app called a VPN to access US Netflix with your account details from your country.

There are hundreds of VPN companies out there but not all work with Netflix, three I recommend that do are:

My Top 3 VPN services to unblock US Netflix:

You should select one of the three above and sign up. I recommend you use ExpressVPN. They’ve got a 30-day money back guarantee if you can’t get it working plus they’re pretty simple to use.

There’s also a promotion where you can get three months free if you sign up for 12 months. If you’re planning on bingeing American Netflix a lot then it’s well worth it to save money.

Once you’ve decided on one of the above, follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the ExpressVPN website by clicking here and sign up for their service.
  2. Download their app for your device from the Products section of their website.
  3. Open the app and activate it or login.
  4. Select Choose Location and then select United States.
  5. Press Connect or wait for the app to connect automatically.
  6. Once connected visit the Netflix website or open the Netflix app.

Once you’re connected you’re able to watch any of the American Netflix movies or TV shows.

This includes all of the releases for September that may otherwise not release on Netflix in your country.
