Unfortunately like most online TV streaming services is restricted. It’s restricted to being watched from within Canada only. If you’re outside Canada then you’ll be blocked from watching.
Below I’m going to show you how you can unblock TVA outside Canada and watch from anywhere in the world.
Why is TVA blocked in the first place?
Like most TV services, TVA is blocked outside Canada.
If you’re a French-speaking Canadian travelling outside Canada you’ll be blocked with a message that says “Ce contenu n’est pas disponible dans votre pays.”.
This translates to the content is not available in your country.
The reason is obvious, it’s intended to be watched within Canada only. But what can you do if you’re outside Canada and you want to watch TVA?
Well, the solution is to get yourself an app called a VPN. A VPN is a legal privacy tool that allows you to change your online location and appear somewhere else.
So if you’re in America, France, the UK or anywhere else in the world you can make it look as if you’re in Canada. The result is, TVA is unblocked and you can watch anywhere in the world.

How to watch TVA outside Canada Step-by-Step
To watch TVA outside Canada you’re going to need to get a VPN service.
These cost a few dollars per month and are always charged in US Dollars. There are hundreds of VPN services out there so it can be difficult to find a reliable one that isn’t too slow or doesn’t buffer.
I’ve been testing a range with TVA and my favourite is ExpressVPN, however all three of these providers worked well:
All you need to do is choose one, it really doesn’t matter which.
Below in my example I’m using ExpressVPN but they all work much the same so just follow the steps below regardless of which VPN provider you selected in the end.
- Visit the ExpressVPN website by clicking here and sign up for their service.
- Once signed up go to the Products section of their website and download the app for your device type.
- Install the app and open it. Then login with your account details.
- Press Choose Location, then All, then Americas then click on Canada.
- The app should connect for you but if not press Connect.
- Once the app has connected head over to TVA.ca.
You can now watch any live or catch-up content on TVA as if you were at home in Canada. It doesn’t matter where in the world you really are. The entire website is now unblocked.
When you’ve finished watching TVA just disconnect from the VPN app. You can reconnect whenever you want and as many times as you want as long as you still have a valid subscription to the VPN service you signed up with.
You can also use the same VPN service to watch other content from Canada such as CBC or Bravo.
