Sling TV is an outstanding online streaming platform that’s available in the US.
It has TV shows, live TV, live sports, and movies from popular channels such as ESPN, the NFL Network, SYFY, AMC, NBC, and more.
However, if you want to watch Sling TV outside the US, then you’ll be blocked from viewing the platform and you’ll miss out on everything that Sling TV has to offer.
In this article, I’ll show you a super easy solution to unblock Sling TV from anywhere in the world.
You will no longer have to miss out on top quality American TV and sports just because you’re out of the country. Watching Sling TV will be easy.
Can I watch Sling TV in another country?
Officially, you can’t watch Sling TV in another country, but if you use an app called a Virtual Private Network (VPN), you won’t have to worry about that.
A VPN is an app that you can install on your devices that allows you to connect to the internet via an overseas location such as the US. Doing so will make Sling TV work by making the service think you’re in the United States.
You’ll be able to enjoy Sling TV as if you were in America in the UK, Canada, Australia, India, Japan or anywhere else globally.
So you won’t miss a single minute of sport or an episode of your favourite show.
Where to get a VPN for Sling TV
When it comes to VPNs, ExpressVPN is the LeBron James (or Messi if you prefer soccer) of the VPN world, it comes out on top every time.
ExpressVPN is ideally suited to watch Sling TV outside the US.
It provides high-speed connections worldwide, including 29 locations in the United States with plenty of US IP addresses. You’ll have no trouble connecting to a reliable US server to watch the Yankees play.
High-speed connections = fast streaming speeds, the last thing you want is to miss a last-second three pointer during a Lakers game due to your connection lagging. This has happened to me in the past but has never happened with ExpressVPN while I watch Sling TV outside the US.
They also let you have five simultaneous connections so your kids can watch live TV in one room while you crack open a beer and watch the game in another.
ExpressVPN works well with other streaming sites, such as BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Hulu, PeacockTV, and more.
NordVPN is extremely cheap ($3.67/month), while Surfshark works exceptionally well with Netflix, unblocking over 30+ Netflix libraries. Which you pick is your choice!

How to stream Sling TV in any country
To access Sling TV outside the US, you’ll need to follow these steps below and get access to a VPN.
In this example, I’ll demonstrate the set-up using the #1 ExpressVPN, but it will be similar for most VPNs.
- Go to ExpressVPN and sign up for one of their VPN packages. I always recommend getting their longer-term package (12 months). It comes with 3 free months making it a bargain.
- Download the ExpressVPN app to your device and log in using your username and password. You can find the app on your devices app store (Google Play Store for an Android device and Apple store for iOS**) or via the ExpressVPN website.
- Choose a location to connect to by clicking ‘Selected location‘ and choose a location to join. For Sling TV, you’ll need to connect to a United States connection (American IP address). If it doesn’t automatically connect, click the Connect button.
- Once your connection is established, visit the Sling TV website, download Sling TV and get ready to watch Sling TV abroad.
** Make sure your Apple ID is registered to a US address.

What countries does Sling work in?
As it stands, Sling TV only works in the US and Puerto Rico.
This means that if you’re an ex-pat living or travelling abroad, you won’t be able to access Sling TV without a VPN such as ExpressVPN or one of the other two recommendations.
Does Sling work with VPN?
It all depends on what VPN provider you choose, as Sling TV doesn’t work with every VPN out there, so make sure you don’t just sign up for any old VPN service.
Services such as ExpressVPN work exceptionally well with Sling TV, I have been using them with Sling for several months now and I’m yet to experience a problem with the VPN service.
You might be wondering if you can use a “free” VPN service, but I would strongly recommend you avoid free VPN providers at all costs.
One of the main reasons is that they are notoriously bad for unblocking Sling TV. Hardly any of them will let you watch Sling TV and the ones that do work will have connection speeds similar to those of the 90s.
Free VPNs have far too many users and are quickly blocked by streaming services.
This is without me mentioning the security issues that are associated with free VPN services.

VPN apps such as ExpressVPN, NordVPN, and Surfshark VPN work on the most popular devices such as an iOS device like the iPhone or iPad, Android mobile devices, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV/ Fire TV stick, macOS, Windows, Linux, and more.
They even have some useful extensions for browsers such as Chrome and Firefox.
Even though they cover almost all devices, a few aren’t supported yet such as Smart TVs, gaming consoles, Apple TV, and Roku device.
To watch Sling on your smart TV, Apple TV, etc, you’ll need to use an Invizbox 2 device.
Invizbox 2 is a hardware version of a VPN.
You plug it into your WiFi router and connect to it. It will then re-route your internet connection to a location of your choosing (the US), giving you access to streaming Sling TV from anywhere.

As I mentioned earlier in the article, VPNs can help you access more than just Sling TV.
You’ll be able to unblock streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, Peacock TV, HBO Max, 7Plus, and many more.

Shows content from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and more. Including the likes of The Avengers, The Mandalorian, Iron Man, Loki, and plenty of others.
A good VPN can help you access other regions’ Netflix libraries with a click of a button. For example, if you’re in the UK, you can connect to a US VPN server and access the US Netflix library, which has a considerably larger offering.
Peacock TV is a US streaming channel that isn’t available outside the US.
If you’re looking to access Sling TV from outside the US, then you’ll need some help to do so. This is due to the streaming platform being geo-restricted to the US and Puerto Rico.
