If you’re looking for a simple way to watch Oksusu outside Korea then you’ve come to the right place. In this guide I’m going to show you how to can watch Oksusu anywhere in the world.
Oksusu is one of the biggest and best online streaming services in South Korea. You could essentially think of it as a Netflix for Korea.
They show some of the top Korean dramas, everything from NCT Life Osaka to Dokgo Rewind and more. If you’ve already tried to visit Oksusu then you’ll know it’s blocked but by using a simple app called a VPN from a provider such as NordVPN you can unblock Oksusu and watch from anywhere in the world.
Below I’ll show you where to get a VPN, how to use it and also how to install the Oksusu app if you want to watch on a mobile device.
Step 1: Get yourself a VPN
Oksusu is restricted to watching within South Korea only. If you try to visit their website or use their app you’ll be blocked with a message telling you it’s not available in your region.
You’ll need to use a VPN app to avoid this. A VPN works by allowing you to pretend you are in South Korea. This will let you watch Oksusu and stream any of the shows there.
There are hundreds of VPN services out there but most don’t work with Oksusu. You should definitely avoid free ones because they either don’t support South Korea or they’re too slow to stream video.
Three I recommend that work well (and you can choose any) are:
- NordVPN – Highly recommended
- CyberGhostVPN
- StrongVPN
30-day money back guarantee
I recommend you sign up for NordVPN because they’ve got a 30-day money back guarantee. This means if you can’t get it working with Oksusu then you can simply get your money back.
They’re also running a deal right now where you can get their service for as little as $2.75 p/m so it’s worth signing up for their longer packages to save money. The benefit is you can watch more Korean drama and shows on Oksusu and other services like Naver.
Once you’ve signed up for a VPN from one of the three above follow the steps below to watch Oksusu.
Step 2: How to use the VPN to watch Oksusu
Now that you’ve signed up for a VPN I’ll show you the simple steps how to use it below.
I’m using my recommended VPN service NordVPN but you can use any. The steps below start from signing up so if you’ve already signed up, skip step 1.
How to watch Oksusu outside Korea:
- Visit the NordVPN website by clicking here and sign up for their service.
- Download their app from the ‘VPN Apps’ area of their website or by searching your regular app store for ‘NordVPN’.
- Open their app and login when required.
- Press Countries and select South Korea from the list.
- Press Connect if the app doesn’t automatically connect for you.
Once the NordVPN app has connected you can head over to the Oksusu website. Or if you’re using a mobile or tablet open the Oksusu app.
If you don’t already have the Oksusu app then you’ll need to read the section below to install it.
Now that you’re connected you can watch Oksusu the same as if you were in South Korea and stream all of their shows live or on catch-up.
30-day money back guarantee
Step 3: Download the Oksusu app (if needed)
If you want to watch on a regular computer or laptop then you don’t need any additional apps. Once you’re connected to NordVPN just visit the Oksusu website.
If you want to watch on a mobile or tablet device then you’ll need to download the Oksusu app. If you visit your regular app store and try to install the Oksusu app from outside South Korea you’ll likely be blocked.
If you have an Android tablet or phone you can download the Oksusu app from : https://apkpure.com/oksusu/com.skb.btvmobile
Just visit that address from your mobile web-browser.
If you have an iOS device like an iPad or iPhone then you’ll need to follow a guide like this one which shows you how to download and install apps from outside their intended country.
Recap: What’ll you’ll need to watch Oksusu
To watch Oksusu outside Korea you’ll need just one thing. A VPN service.
I recommended three VPN services that work for Oksusu earlier in this guide. However, my recommended service is NordVPN.
They’re a bit easier to use than the others and they’ve got additional benefits such as a 30-day money back guarantee and a super cheap price if you sign up for their yearly package. If you only want to watch one or two shows though you can take their monthly package which is good value too.
Click the button below to visit the NordVPN website and sign up. Once you’ve signed up download and install their app for your type of device.
If you want to watch on a computer or laptop then you can simply visit the Oksusu website. If you want to watch on your mobile or tablet then you’ll need to download the Oksusu app which you can find details of in the section above.
That’s all there is to it, you’re now free to watch as much Oksusu as you want from anywhere in the world.
