Watch Liverpool vs Sevilla UEFA Europa League Final

Chris has a passion for helping you watch your favourite TV abroad. When he isn't helping you he can be found watching football, browsing Netflix or watching a good documentary.

UEFA Europa League Final

I’ve been looking at ways to watch the UEFA Europa League Final between Liverpool and Sevilla and the good news is there is a completely legal stream being shown online for free so keep reading to find out how you can watch from anywhere in the world.

The Europa League Final takes place in Basel, Switzerland at St Jakob-Park stadium between English team Liverpool and Spanish team Sevilla.

The final will take place on 18th May 2016 and kick-off is at 20:45 Central European Time (CEST), that’s 19:45 in England and 20:45 in Spain.

Sevilla is the current Europa League title holders after winning the final the last two years running and are looking to make it a hat-trick this year. After seeing off Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk last year and Benfica in the 2013-14 competition Sevilla now faces one of their toughest opponents meeting English club Liverpool.

After scraping through the group stages Sevilla looks to have a job on their hands to retain the title after Liverpool pulled off one of the comebacks of football history to beat Borussia Dortmund and then convincingly took on Villarreal in the home leg.

So let’s find out how you can watch the final online from any country in the world.

Watch Liverpool vs Sevilla UEFA Europa League Final

The UEFA Europa League Final between Liverpool and Sevilla is being shown live on BT Sport in the UK. So if you’re in the UK you can watch free on your TV.

The match is also being shown free online on the BT Sport YouTube channel which is restricted to viewing from within the UK only. The good news is there is a way to circumvent those restrictions and watch online on the BT Sport YouTube channel from any country in the world.

So rather than see a block message like the one below, you’ll be able to watch the final anywhere!

The uploader has not made this video available in your country.

To bypass the restriction above and watch the Liverpool vs Sevilla UEFA Europa League Final you’re going to need to use a service called a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

A VPN allows you to disguise your online location and appear somewhere else. It does this by changing your IP Address so the websites that you visit think you’re in another country. To watch the BT Sport YouTube live stream you’ll want to appear in the United Kingdom and a VPN will let you do that.

Below I’ll show you where you can get a VPN service to watch the match.

Where to get a VPN for the final

There are hundreds of companies that offer VPN services because their original purpose is to protect your online privacy. If you try searching for one then like me you’ll no doubt be confused with all the options and terminology.

The good news is there is nothing to fear. I’ve been testing a selection of VPN services to find out which is the best to stream the match live and found that a provider called IPVanish offers the best service. Not only are they the fastest which means no buffering or stuttering but they’re also the cheapest at just $6.49 when taking an annual package which is roughly £4.50 or €5,74.

You’re only going to need a 1 month package to watch and you can also use it to watch the Champions League final too.

If you want to take a look at a selection of providers then the follow three are my top choices. They work on PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices.

All you need to do is click on one of their names or the green button to visit my recommend provider, sign-up and then read below and I’ll show you how to use the service.

  1. IPVanish
  2. ExpressVPN
  3. Overplay *

*Overplay is not suitable for Android or iOS

How to use the VPN to watch

Using the VPN service is simple.

All you need to do is download either their software for your PC or Mac or their app for Android or iOS and install it. Once installed connect to their United Kingdom server and then visit the BT Sport YouTube page at the time of kick-off.

Rather than being blocked from viewing you’ll be able to watch the full match with English commentary in any country in the world.

Below I’ve put together an example using IPVanish and their Windows software but it’s much the same no matter which provider you signed up for or what device you’re using.

  1. Download the IPVanish software from the Apps area of their website.
  2. Install and run it.
  3. Near the flag next to the IPVanish logo change the option to OpenVPN (UDP).
  4. Press Server Selection (1.).
  5. Press List.
  6. In the search box (2.) type “Manchester“.
  7. Click on the top option (3.) in the list and press Connect (4.).
    IPVanish example

Type Manchester similar to the example above.

The IPVanish software will now take care of connection for you. It should take no more than between 15-30 seconds to get connected.

Once connected just visit the BT Sport YouTube page at kick-off time and you’ll be able to stream the UEFA Europa League final in any country in the world. Enjoy!
