If you grew up in the 90s, then, you probably remember Dinosaurs, a sitcom about a family of anthropomorphic dinosaurs that aired on ABC between 1991 and 1994 in the US, and on several TV networks across the globe.

At the end of 2020, Disney announced the series was coming to Disney+ on January 31, 2021.

Sadly, for the time being, the series is only available in the US.

The reason?

Only Disney knows, but probably it has to do with having some exclusive material in the US first, and previous contracts with other platforms.

Luckily, there’s a solution to this. In the next sections, I’m going to explain how to access Disney+ US. You’re going to love this guide!

What do you need to watch Dinosaurs?

If you already have a Disney+ account, but you don’t live in the US, you’ll need a VPN app like ExpressVPN to watch Dinosaurs.

What is a VPN?

A VPN is a virtual private network which protects your privacy online. It’s a powerful and useful tool that nowadays must be considered as mandatory as anti-virus software.

To protect your activity online, a VPN connects you to the internet through servers located in different countries across the world.

As a side benefit, you choose a server located in the US, for example, and you’ll be able to access the Disney+ content available there.

Which VPN is the best?

Choosing a VPN can be a difficult task with so many options on the market.

I recommend ExpressVPN, which is the most complete VPN. It offers the fastest connection speeds, it’s user-friendly, and it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee in case the service if not suitable for you.

Also, it works perfectly for unblocking Disney+.

I have two other options for you: NordVPN and Surfshark. They also unblock Disney+ without issues and offer similar features and fees.

The final decision is up to you!

What is Dinosaurs about?

Dinosaurs is an American family sitcom about an anthropomorphic dinosaur family, that aired between 1991 and 1994.

The characters were portrayed by puppets and animatronics created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. It was produced by Michael Jacobs Productions and Jim Henson Television in association with Walt Disney Television and distributed by Buena Vista International, Inc.

Set in 60,000,003 BC in Pangaea, the series follows the Sinclair family and their daily life belonging to the working middle class.

The series humorously deals with a lot of current issues such as social, environmental, sexual, gender, racial, and other contemporary topics, making Dinosaurs a series ahead of its time series.

Characters

Earl Sinclair is the patriarch of the Sinclair family. He’s a 41 year-old Megalosaurus who works as a tree pusher for the WESAYSO Development Corporation.

Fran Phillips Sinclair is Earl’s wife and housemaker of the Sinclair family. She’s an Allosaurus.

Robbie Sinclair is the oldest of the three Sinclair children. He’s a 16-year-old Hypsilophodon. He’s in high school and always questioning old traditions.

Charlene Sinclair is the middle child of Earl and Fran and their only daughter. She’s a 14-year-old Protoceratops.

Baby Sinclair is the newest member of the Sinclair family.

He’s a Megalosaurus and the most popular character of the show. He’s famous for hitting his father with a frypan on his head, and for his catchphrases: “I’m the baby, gotta love me!” “Again” and “Not the mama!”.

Ethyl Phillips is Fran’s mother and Earl’s mother in law. She comes to live with the Sinclairs, and she is always seen in a wheelchair.

Roy Hess is Earl’s co-worker and best friend. He’s a Tyrannosaurus rex.

Bradley P. “B.P.” Richfield is the cold and heartless boss of Earl at the WESAYSO Development Corporation. He’s a Styracosaurus.

Series production

Jim Henson conceived the series in 1988. He wanted to create a family sitcom with dinosaurs. At that time, everybody thought it was a crazy idea.

After The Simpsons’ success, the idea was taken into account again.

After Henson’s death, the series began its production at the hands of the Walt Disney Company’s television division. Originally it was meant to be aired on CBS, but it ended landing on ABC.

The series became a huge success, but after four seasons it was cancelled due to budget. The puppets and animatronics made it the most expensive half-hour TV show at that time.

How many seasons and episodes are there?

Dinosaurs is composed of four seasons and a total of 65 episodes, which aired between April 1991 and October 1994.

Currently, Disney+ US has all seasons and episodes available on their service.

A disclaimer: they’re only available with English audio and English CC subs.

Summary

When Disney announced Dinosaurs, a sitcom about talking dinosaurs from the 90s, coming on January 31 to their streaming service, the news was welcomed and met with great expectations.

But, when the audience around the world searched for the series, they couldn’t find it. Only the American audience was the lucky one to enjoy it.

If you belong to the angry mob who is disappointed because Dinosaurs is not available in your country on Disney+, your solution is a VPN like ExpressVPN.
