The Champions League 2018-19 is now underway and if you want to know how you can watch all the action free online this is the guide for you.
If you’ve already been searching for ways to watch the matches you’ll no doubt have come across hundreds of sketchy links. My recommendation is you should avoid these.
Not only is it illegal to view them but they’re often filled with viruses and other trojans that could leave your computer or other device infected with something pretty nasty.
I’ve discovered a way you can watch all the Champions League 2018-19 matches for free on an official stream using an app called a VPN and below I’ll show you how.
Step 1: Get yourself a VPN to watch
In most countries watching the Champions League requires an expensive cable subscription package.
However, in India the Champions League matches are shown live online by official broadcaster SonyLiv. They show all the group stages, knock-out rounds and the finals, all for free. All matches are shown with English commentary.
You can use a VPN app to pretend you’re in India allowing you to watch SonyLiv which in turn will allow you to watch all the Champions League matches in any country. You won’t need a cable subscription and you won’t need to pay to watch the matches.
I’ve been using ExpressVPN because I found them to be the best but there are hundreds of companies out there selling VPN services. If you want to check out a few more options then the following three are my top recommendations.
Top 3 VPN services to watch Champions League:
Just pick one of the providers above. If you’re still confused choose ExpressVPN, they’re my favourite choice and they’ve got a huge 30-day money back guarantee. This means if you can’t get it working then you can just get a refund.
When you’ve signed up to one of the three providers above follow the steps below to watch the Champions League 2018-19.

When is the Champions League 2018-19 shown?
The Champions League 2018-19 started on 18th September 2018 and will run right through until June 2019 when the final will take place.
The group stages will end on the 12th December 2018 and pick up again from 12th February for the Round of 16 stage.
After that there are matches in March, April and May following the knock-out stages.
The final takes place on 1st June 2018 in Spain.

Is a VPN even legal and how does it work?
VPN services are completely legal in almost every country in the world and unless you live in a repressive country like North Korea you have nothing to worry about.
This means you can watch the Champions League in any country as VPNs are completely legal.
A VPN works by disguising your location to make it appear like you’re somewhere else. The SonyLiv network that is showing the Champions League free is intended for viewers in India.
However, by using a VPN from the likes of ExpressVPN you can make the website think you are in India. That will let you watch the Champions League 2018-19 in any country.
