It’s that time of the year again; the Great British Sewing Bee is back.
It’s the show that the Daily Mail says is “full of inspiring ideas to fill idle hours”.
But for many of you who live outside of the UK, the show will be inaccessible as you don’t live there.
It’s also not shown in many other countries across the world and where it is, it’s often extremely late and already been ruined by spoilers from the internet.
In this article I will be showing you one easy way that will give you full access to the show and the ability to unlock other regionally locked content.
No more missing out on your favourite making shows because you live in another country.
What you will need
Unlocking regionally locked content has never been easier.
To do so, all you need is a VPN app.
VPNs can be useful for a multiple of reasons, but I will discuss those later on in the article.
For now, there is just one feature that you need to know about; that is the ability to connect to servers located in another country and tricking websites into thinking you are living somewhere else, e.g. the UK.
But don’t worry! It all sounds technical and complicated, but it really isn’t – the app handles everything for you.
By connecting the servers in the UK, you will have full access to everything a person from the UK can access, such as BBC iPlayer, which you will need for the Great British Sewing Bee.
Where to get a VPN?
When it comes to VPNs, there are numerous options for you to choose from. However, some are better than others and this is certainly something you want to be aware of when making your choice.
My number 1 recommendation is ExpressVPN.
ExpressVPN is an outstanding VPN and offers the best connection speeds on the market. This is essential because the further away you are from the UK (hello, Australia!) the more speed is vital for video.
With several thousand servers for you to connect to, you will never struggle to find a secure connection. They offer several connection points in the UK, so accessing British content won’t be a problem.

What is the Great British Sewing Bee about?
The show follows a group of 12 contestants (an increase on last year’s number of contestants). Each week the contestants are assigned a new sewing task varying from sewing to dressmaking.
They must all show off their skills and try to win the weekly challenge. The loser will be sent home and will not progress to next week’s show.
In typical contest style, as the weeks go on, contestants will leave each week until one contestant is left standing as the winner of the show.
The winner wins the title “Britain’s best home sewer” and a trophy. So the winner best hadn’t go and buy any mansions just yet.
When is it on and how many episodes are there?
The latest season of the Great British Sewing Bee started on Wednesday 22nd April at 9 pm on BBC1.
There are 10 episodes in this season and will be airing weekly. Each episode is 60 minutes long, which will be completely uninterrupted as the BBC don’t have advert breaks, giving you a whole hour of sewing fun.
The show is currently on its 6th season and as it stands now, the previous seasons aren’t available on BBC iPlayer, but this may change over time as the show is becoming very popular.
Can I use a VPN for anything else?
As I mentioned earlier on in the article, VPNs have numerous functions.
Originally they were created to help keep your data safe and secure while you are on the internet. With the internet being used more and more throughout our daily lives, security has become a serious matter.
As you know, they can be used to mask your location, allowing you to access regionally blocked content.
Accessing the Great British Sewing Bee from outside the UK can be a nightmare, having to rely on dodgy-looking websites to try and stream the show.
This is a big NO-NO from me.
There is a better, much more reliable way to ensure you don’t miss a minute, you will need a VPN.
ExpressVPN is my VPN of choice; they offer brilliant speeds and are one of the most reliable services out there. Once you start using it, it is easy to see why it’s my number 1 choice.
Don’t miss a moment and get your VPN now. The Great British Sewing Bee is waiting for you.
