Where is Ammonite available to watch?

For the time being, the only streaming service offering Ammonite in its catalogue is Hulu in the US.

If you live there, you only need to create a Hulu account, and you can take advantage of their free month trial.

But, if you live outside the US, then you’ll need more help to access Hulu.

What do I need to watch?

In this case, a VPN is your tool of the trade. A VPN like ExpressVPN allows you to connect to a server located in the US and access Hulu as if you were living there.

However, if you’re a newcomer to the VPN world, you may be asking yourself….

What is a VPN?

A VPN is a virtual private network meant to protect your privacy online by concealing your actual location with another one.

To accomplish this, you can choose a country of your preference according to your needs and select a server to connect to.

Now, all your online activity remains mostly anonymous and protected.

Another perk of using a VPN is it allows you to unblock a lot of streaming services and other media around the world.

That’s why you can access Hulu with a VPN wherever you are in the world.

How to choose the right VPN?

When it comes to choosing a VPN service, we recommend ExpressVPN, which overall is the best.

To name a few features:

  • It has the fastest connection speeds in the market.
  • The app is easy to configure
  • It has a 30-day money-back guarantee if you aren’t happy with the service.

If you want to try more options, then our recommendation is Surfshark and NordVPN. Both of them have great features too and similar prices – the choice is yours!

What’s Ammonite about?

Set in England in 1840, the film is loosely based on the life of the British palaeontologist Mary Anning (Kate Winslet) and speculates about the lesbian relationship she was involved with the young Charlotte Murchison (Saoirse Ronan).

Mary lives with her ailing mother, Molly and together run a small store. Every morning, when the tide is low, Mary goes to the beach to look for fossils, mostly ammonites, to sell in her store.

One day, geologist Roderick Murchison pays a visit to Mary’s store, offering her to work for him by taking care of his wife, Charlotte.

Mary is reluctant at first of the job proposal, but her need for money to support her mother makes her accept.

From there on, Mary and Charlotte will develop a deep bond that will end in a romantic relationship.

Reviews of the movie have been generally positive, with Mark Kermode, Observer film critic saying, “It adds up to an expertly crafted film.” (Source)
