How to watch 10 All Access outside Australia

Chris, a UK-born media connoisseur, is an expert in watching international TV. Known as "The Global Screen Wanderer", he has travelled extensively across the globe with long stints away from home. With over 10 years of experience he has become the go-to guru for streaming content from home and abroad.

Network Ten threw down the gauntlet in Australia and launched their 10 All Access service.

In competition to both Stan and Netflix it currently has some 7,000 shows available and best of all they’re advert free (hands up if you love no adverts!)

Like Ten Play the service isn’t available outside Australia and this is where your problems will start.

Unlike Ten Play which is essentially free, 10 All Access is costing you to subscribe. While it’s only $9.99 at current rates, not being available while you’re travelling means you’re paying for something you can’t access…

… but wait a minute because there’s a super handy app called a VPN that WILL let you watch 10 All Access outside Australia and below I’ll be showing you how.

Step 1: What you need to watch 10 All Access

If you’re heading outside Australia (don’t forget to pack your TimTams because those fake ones in Thailand just won’t cut it) then 10 All Access is blocked.

In fact, the ‘terms of use’ even say “10 All Access is only available to Australian-based users”.

To tap into your account while you’re overseas you’ll need to grab a VPN app.

This is a little app that lets you change your location and will cost from $9 a month, which if we’re honest isn’t much off one of those expensive CBD coffees (unless you’re a $1 7-Eleven kind of guy or gal).

I recommend using ExpressVPN because they work well with 10 All Access, plus they’ve got some of the best speeds which means you won’t be plagued by buffering even if you’re as far away as the UK or US.

There are a couple of other good choices so if you’ve got time to be shopping about then take a look at these three:

  1. ExpressVPN – Recommended
  2. IPVanish
  3. CyberGhost VPN

Step 2: How to watch 10 All Access

Using the VPN app to watch 10 All Access is really easy.

1) First you need to sign up for one of the three services from above such as ExpressVPN by clicking here.
2) Then download their app for your device either from the ‘Products’ section or from your regular app store.
3) Open the app and login or activate it.
4) Then press ‘Choose Location‘ (1).
5) Next press ‘All‘ (2), ‘Asia Pacific‘ (3) and click on ‘Australia – Sydney 3‘ (4).
6) The app will either automatically connect for you or you’ll need to press ‘Connect‘ (5).

7) Once the app has connected visit the 10 All Access website or use their app.

You’ll now be able to access the full service as if you were back at home in Oz. Although if you’re sunning yourself somewhere exotic you probably don’t want to get back there too quick so at least you can access 10 All Access wherever you are.

Is using a VPN legal

VPN apps are 100% legal in Australia and most other countries in the world.

There are a few countries that try to block them like China and Iran but that’s more to do with censoring the internet rather than the legality.

So, you’re safe that using a VPN isn’t going to land you in a heap of trouble in almost all countries.

But isn’t it against the Terms & Conditions

I’m not a lawyer and don’t claim to be one.

However, there’s no mention of using a VPN in the terms & conditions of 10 All Access at the time of writing.

It probably is theoretically against the terms & conditions of the site, just like it is with most sites. That said, millions of users daily use VPNs to access Netflix, TenPlay, 7Plus and a whole host of other services without issue.

I guess at the very worst you could have your 10 All Access account suspended but the chances of that happening are extremely remote. After all, Network Ten would then lose your subscription fee, so it’s a lose, lose.

What else can I use the VPN for

The best part of all of this is if you’re after a bargain then you’ll be pleased to know you can use the inexpensive VPN service from ExpressVPN for other purposes.

You’ll be able to watch 7Plus, TenPlay, SBS, iView, Stan, Foxtel Go and nearly every other Australian TV service.

You can also use it to watch American Netflix and some of the UK’s online streaming services like the BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and more.

ExpressVPN lets you use their service on up to 3 devices at the same time so other family members can login and access their favourite TV too.

In Summary: Watch 10 All Access outside Australia

To watch 10 All Access outside Australia you’ll need to get a VPN app.

You should sign up for ExpressVPN because they’re super easy to use and work well for watching 10 All Access.

If you’re going to be out of Australia for a while then take the 12-month package from ExpressVPN because it’s nearly 50% cheaper than paying monthly.

Once you’ve signed up download their app and connect to Australia. You can now crack open those TimTams and watch 10 All Access in any country.

What country are you watching 10 All Access in? I would love to know so drop me a note in the comments section below.

Hiya! I was just wondering if you know a way to get 10 all access from another country when using a vpn? I`ve tried to make an account and I don`t live in australia and it doesn`t work even though I have used a vpn. I think it`s beacause of my debit card not being from australia but i`m not sure. A reply would be kind! 🙂

Unfortunately we don’t think there is a way. You could possibly search for Australian “Virtual debit cards” but I’m not sure many exist, or check out Revoult Australia (https://www.revolut.com/en-AU).

Failing that, what are you wanting to watch? It may be on another service in another country and we could help.
