Is Titanic available to watch on Netflix?
Carolina
Carolina, who originally hails from Argentina is a movie buff through and through. She enjoys nothing more than binge-watching the latest Netflix series and is a big fan of their 'Originals' line. Her favourite movie is Frozen and she's a big fan of The Good Place & The Dragon Prince.
When it comes to classic movies availability on streaming services, we assume that everything can be found on Netflix.
But is Titanic one of them? We’ll be finding out.
Most of the time, when it’s difficult to find specific movies in the Netflix catalogue, we get shocked.
So, if you’re in the mood to enjoy Titanic at home, probably you’re wondering just like me if it can be found on Netflix or not.
Keep reading this article, and we’ll discover the answer very soon.
Does Netflix have the Titanic?
If you live in the United States then you’re in luck!
It’s the only country to have Titanic available in their Netflix catalogue.
If you’re anywhere else then your luck ran out, it’s not officially available in your region. However, it’s still possible to watch, but more on that later.
Big markets like Europe, Latin America and Australia can’t watch Titanic on Netflix directly.
Why is this? Well usually down to regional license restrictions.
Netflix holds the rights to stream the movie only in the US mentioned above, but in other countries, other services own the rights.
What you need to unblock Titanic
The way to unblock Titanic on Netflix is by using a ‘VPN‘.
A VPN is a virtual private network meant to protect your privacy online by concealing your actual location with another one.
It’s basically a small app.
Also, as a side benefit, you can access regionally blocked content from streaming services like Netflix.
So this means with your usual Netflix account details you can login to other Netflix regions and stream their content. You’re not just limited to watching the Titanic either.
Choosing a reliable VPN service can be complicated, as not all work with Netflix. My recommendation is to use ExpressVPN as we’ve tested them over a long period and they’re the most reliable.
ExpressVPN provides fast download speeds, which are perfect for streaming video. They also have a 30-day money-back guarantee in the case you don’t like the service, and the most important thing is it works unblocking Netflix.
Another two good options with similar features are CyberGhost VPN and NordVPN. You’re free to use any.

What’s the Titanic about?
When James Cameron decided to film Titanic, his main goal was to show how the Titanic sinking had happened.
After all, he’s an enthusiast of shipwrecks, and the Titanic tragedy is the mother of all wrecks. But, he also needed to tell an engaging and relatable story appealing to the general audience.
And what’s better than an epic romance between two passengers who belong to different social classes, or as James Cameron sold the idea to Fox: “Romeo and Juliet on the Titanic”.
Rose is a 17-year-old upper-class passenger boarding the ship with her mother Ruth and her fiance Cal. Jack is a poor artist travelling in third class.
When Rose considers suicide due to the distress of her engagement, Jack discourages her from such a decision. Cal, Rose’s fiancee, finds them together and gets suspicious of Jack.
From there on, Rose and Jack develop a friendship that turns into something else.
The story is actually told by a 100-year-old Rose, 84 years later the Titanic incident. She’s telling her story to her grandaughter and treasure hunter Brock Lovett and his team aboard the research vessel Akademik Mstislav Keldysh.
The team is searching the wreck of RMS Titanic for a necklace with a rare diamond, the Heart of the Ocean.
Who stars in the Titanic?
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio have become one of the most famous couples in fiction thanks to Titanic and their interpretation of Rose and Jack, respectively.
Billy Zane follows them in the role of Rose’s fiancé, Cal Hockley; Kathy Bates as Molly Brown; Bill Paxton as Brock Lovett, the treasure hunter; Gloria Stuart as Old Rose, among others.
Summary
Netflix has this fame of having everything, but we know this is far from reality.
Sometimes it happens that they have what we’re looking for, but in another region that we can’t access.
Titanic used to be available in a handful of countries but this is no longer the case. It’s now only available on the US version of Netflix.
So, if Titanic is missing from your Netflix library, you need a VPN to unblock the regions where it is available.
ExpressVPN is our recommendation. Sign up, download their app and connect to the United States.
You can then use your regular Netflix account to stream the Titanic no matter what country you’re in – even if it’s not officially available in your country.

I’ve tried with Expressvpn and I could not finish the transaction for some reason, it was constantly denied. Tried with Nordvpn and it worked? I don’t know why, but they support something about my bank but I just wanted a VPN. Nordvpn worked for Netflix and still does with other streaming services too, so not complaining there, probably if the transaction for Expressvpn worked, I would not have any problems too
Thanks for taking the time to let us know your experience. Glad you got it working.
