The legendary Sir Sean Connery has graced our screens for decades and has established himself as a true Hollywood legend.

Unfortunately on the 31st October 2020, the man who set the bar for all James Bond actors passed away peacefully in his sleep.

In this article, I will be discussing his 10 best movies of all time and will show you how to access most of them on Netflix.

How to watch these on Netflix

In my list, most of them will be available on Netflix. However, some won’t be available in your country as Netflix varies by region.

To access all of them (even those not available in your country) you will need to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to unblock them all for your region.

There are lots of VPN apps to choose from but ExpressVPN will be perfect for you to unblock Netflix content such as Sean Connery’s best movies, as they provide you with over 3000 servers worldwide that you can connect to at the click of a button.

Other choices include NordVPN and Surfshark, so you’re free to choose.

ExpressVPN offers the fastest connection speeds around, making them the perfect VPN provider for streaming Netflix content in full 4K UHD. So you can watch Sean Connery’s movies in all their glory.

Now that you know how to access his movies, let’s move on to the list.

Note: I have included several movies that aren’t currently on Netflix as they are some of his best works. However, since his passing I get a feeling there will be more being added over the next few weeks/months. So keep an eye out.

10. The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Allan Quatermain, a renowned adventurer puts together a team of individuals from Victorian folklore to bring down a dangerous villain named “The Fantom”.

His group comprises of several characters you may have heard of, Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde, a vampiress, the Invisible Man, and several others.

Each member of Quatermain’s league has extraordinary gifts that he believes will help him defeat the evil that is threatening the world.

This movie is fun, full of action, and is great to watch with the whole family. It was also Sean Connery’s last ever movie before he retired from the big screen forever.

Available in regions: Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea.

9. First Knight

On her way to marry King Arthur, Lady Guinevere and her men are ambushed by the evil Sir Malagant. Luckily, a Knight was nearby to save her, Sir Lancelot.

Inevitably, the pair fall in love on their journey to Camelot, but Lady Guinevere still wants to be Queen and marries King Arthur despite her love for Lancelot.

With her heart torn between the two men, she struggles to come to terms with what she wants to do, and what she must do to avoid a royal scandal.

This romantic drama is a brilliant take on the classic tale. Sean Connery’s role is fantastic.

Available in regions: Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, and the UK.

8. Dragon Heart

When the young King Einon is mortally wounded during a battle, he is taken by his mother to be healed by Draco, a dragon who gives him part of his heart.

All that Draco wants in return for his deed is for King Einon to rule the land with justice and honour.

Years pass, and Draco’s location is discovered by a dragon hunter named Bowen. The pair come to an agreement that Draco will fake his death so that Bowen could claim the bounty for slaying a dragon.

On his way to collect the bounty, Bowen discovers that King Einon has become a cruel king who has little interest in his kingdom and the people he rules over.

When Draco finds out, he is disappointed and both he and Bowen set out to save the kingdom.

Available in regions: Belgium and the Czech Republic.

7. The Man Who Would Be King

This movie sees two legendary actors star side by side in this 1975 classic.

Sean Connery and Michael Caine star in this action-adventure set in India during the British occupation in 1885.

Two British soldiers leave the army seeking adventure and find themselves in Khafiristan, a place that hasn’t seen a white man since Alexander the great set foot there. The pair set themselves up as Kings and even as Gods, however, the deception can’t last forever.

This brilliant movie isn’t available on Netflix yet but you can find it on Amazon Prime.

6. The Rock

When a rogue group of US Marines takes over Alcatraz and threatens to release a deadly nerve gas over San Fransisco, a group of SEALs are lead by an ex SAS captain to take back the island before anybody else gets hurt.

This movie is a brilliant action thriller that can be watched time and time again. Sean Connery plays an excellent role in the film.

It’s not currently available on Netflix, but this may change with time.

5. The Hill

Set during WW2 in a South African military prison camp, the new prisoners struggle to stay alive due to the harsh conditions and the brutally sadistic treatment from the camps prison guards.

This movie shows Sean Connery’s acting prowess to its fullest and makes for one brilliant movie.

The movie isn’t available on Netflix, but you will find it on Amazon Prime.

4. The Hunt For Red October

When a Russian submarine captain defects and takes one of Russia’s latest nuclear submarines with him, he and the sub fall off of the radar completely.

The subs new propulsion engine makes it virtually silent when it has dived deep into the depths, making it incredibly hard for anybody to find it.

The captain says he wants to bring the ship to the U.S.A to prevent the ship’s nuclear capabilities from being used against the US, but with many twists to the story, things aren’t that straightforward.

In response to the sub going missing, CIA agent Jack Ryan sets out to find the ship and respond to the captain’s offer.

Available in regions: Netherlands, South Korea, and Switzerland.

3. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

When an art collector approaches Indiana Jones with an offer to go looking for the legendary Holy Grail, he discovers that another explorer has recently disappeared while looking for the Grail… his father.

In a quest to find his father, and hopefully solve the mystery of the Holy Grail, he must undergo many trials to prove that he is in fact worthy enough to find the Grail. His search isn’t as easy as he had hoped for, as some familiar foes return who are also keen to get their hands on the object.

This movie is my favourite Indiana Jones movie, and I’m sure you’ll love it too.

Available in regions: Belgium, Brazil, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, and the United States.

2. Dr. No

James Bonds first ever outing, and the movie that shot Sean Connery into stardom is still one of the best Bond movies ever to be made, and it’s almost 60 years old.

British MI6 agent 007 goes head to head with a very eccentric scientist who has plans to destroy the United States space programme.

To bring him down and stop his evil plan, 007 travels to Jamaica where he uses all of his skills and gadgets to stop Dr.No in his tracks.

This movie isn’t available on Netflix at the moment but can be bought/rented on Amazon Prime.

1. The Untouchables

In first place on my list is this brilliant movie set in prohibition-era America.

In 1920’s America, the countries most dangerous gangster Al-Capone controls everything. His illegal liquor businesses generate millions for his criminal empire, making him one very dangerous foe.

However, treasury officer Elliot Ness is hell bent on bringing him down and locking him in prison for good. He puts together a very tight knit group of officers that he has hand selected to be a part of his new squad.

The squad quickly get a reputation for themselves and has the criminals running scared for the first time in years.

Summary

There will never be an actor quite like Sean Connery ever again, he truly was something special and his movies are proof of this.

To access most of the movies in my list, you will need to use a VPN such as ExpressVPN which will unlock other region’s of Netflix to allow you to stream.
