What’s Rampage all about?
Rampage is a movie adaption of the science fiction video game series of the same name.
It follows Primatologist Davis Okoye (The Rock), who teams up with Dr Caldwell, a brilliant geneticist, to save the life of an albino Gorilla named George when he’s infected with a dangerous pathogen causing erratic growth.
However, two other animals were infected and are wreaking havoc, destroying the city of Chicago. Luckily, George is on humanities side and sets out with Davis to take them down.
The movie is so farfetched it’s brilliant, and it’s a non-stop action-fest that’ll keep you more than entertained.
The Guardian Newspaper’s Peter Bradshaw said, “It is entertainingly over the top” (Source) and gave the movie 3/5 stars which isn’t too bad considering the nature of the film.
Movie critics from Empire online thought, “This very silly movie could actually have afforded to be a lot sillier” (Source) and also gave the movie 3 out of 5 stars.
If you’re looking for an easy to watch “brainless” action movie, Rampage is the perfect choice for movie night.
Who doesn’t love a Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson movie?
Who stars in Rampage?
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
This guy barely needs an introduction, but I’ll do one anyway.
This ex-WWE wrestler is one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors and seems to be in a never-ending collection of action movies.
He grew up watching his father wrestle for a living and clearly followed his footsteps before making it in big in Hollywood.
At one point in his life, he only had a couple of dollars in his pocket and was boosting cars; fortunately, he turned his life around early on, and now we get his action-packed movies.
He’s best known for The Scorpion King, Moana, Jungle Cruise, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, San Andreas, Central Intelligence, Fast Five, Pain & Gain, Skyscraper, Baywatch, The Other Guys, Faster, Tooth Fairy, Snitch, and GI Joe: Retaliation.
Malin Akerman
Born in Stockholm, Sweden and raised by her parents in Canada, Akerman is quite the accomplished actress.
At the young age of 17, she won the Canadian supermodel award “Ford Supermodel”, and she spent three years on the catwalk throughout Europe.
After she had finished her modelling career in Europe, she decided to enrol at York University to study Child Psychology but was offered a role in Earth: Final Conflict, which led her into acting.
She is best known for her roles in movies and TV shows such as Watchmen, The Final Girls, Rock Of Ages, Dollface, The Sleepover, Billions, Sin City Saints, The Ticket, Drunk History, Trophy Wife, A Piece Of My Heart, Misconduct, Easy, Wanderlust, How I Met Your Mother, Entourage, The Proposal, and 27 Dresses.
Jeffery Dean Morgan
This popular actor won audiences hearts when he appeared in the hit series Grey’s Anatomy (2005) when he had a romantic arc with Katherine Heigl’s character Izzie Stevens.
From there, he has starred in many movies and TV shows.
Many of you will know him from his role in Supernatural, where he plays the infamous John Winchester (aka Dad). He’s also played one of the evilest characters to grace our screens in The Walking Dead TV series, I won’t leave any spoilers, but he’s… not a nice guy, to say the least.
He’s starred in many movies and shows such as PS I Love You, Jonah Hex, The Possession, The Courier, Heist, The Good Wife, The Salvation, Magic City, The Unholy, The Postcard Killings, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Watchmen, and Weeds.
