Are classic TMNT movies on Netflix?
The short answer is yes, but they only are available in Canada.
As you might know, the Netflix catalogue changes from country to country, in most cases, due to license agreements.
If you live in Canada, you’re fortunate, and you can watch the original TMNT movies whenever you want.
But if you live in any other country, you’ll need some help and below I’ll show you precisely what.
What do I need to watch?
To access Netflix Canada to watch TMNT movies, you need an app called VPN like ExpressVPN, but there are lots to choose from, which I’ll cover soon.
With this tool, you can unblock the regional blocking and access Canadian Netflix as if you were living there.
But, the big question is…
What is a VPN?
A VPN is a virtual private network whose primary objective is to protect your privacy online.
To fulfil its goal, this allows you to connect to the internet using servers located in different countries to hide your true location.
Your online activity remains mostly anonymous, and also you can access blocked multimedia content like streaming services affected by geo-restrictions.
So you’re probably wondering, which VPN is the best?
If you’re new in the VPN world, it’s easy to get a little bit confused at the many options you’ll find.
Don’t worry! We’re here to help you.
ExpressVPN is my primary recommendation. It’s considered the best VPN on the market because of its outstanding features. It has the fastest connection speeds combined with a user-friendly interface and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
We also recommend NordVPN and Surfshark, two other good options to bear in mind, with similar features and affordable fees.
The final choice is up to you!
How to configure a VPN step by step
Regardless of the VPN service you end choosing, all of them are very similar when it comes to setting them up. In this example, I’m using my fave, ExpressVPN.
If you follow these easy steps, you’ll be binging TMNT classic movies faster than Michaelangelo says, “Cowabunga!”.
Step 1
Go to the ExpressVPN website (or the website of the service you choose) and press the ‘Get ExpressVPN’ button.
Step 2
Create your account with your email address and choose the payment method of your preference.
Step 3
Get the app from the Products section. It doesn’t matter the device or OS you have, you’ll get the right app.
If you’re using a mobile device with Android or iOS, you can get the app directly from Google Play or App Store.
Step 5
With the app installed on your device, log in with the credentials you created in step 2.
Step 6
Now you have everything set up, go to Selected Locations and search for Canada. Choose one of the Canadian cities on the list and press to Connect.
Stream TMNT using ExpressVPN.
Congratulations! You’re ready to enjoy TMNT movies on Netflix using your regular account as if you were in Canada!
What’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles about?
In 1984, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created a black and white comic for Mirage Studios about four anthropomorphic mutant turtles named after Italian Renaissance artists.
This crazy idea became a hit at the end of the 80’s thanks to a toy line and the cartoon series.
The story about Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael being trained in the art of ninjutsu by their sensei Splinter, an anthropomorphic mutant rat, and fighting evil villains like Shredder, hit the big screen with an independent movie in 1990.
The movie proved to be a success at the box office, spawning two live-action sequels and an animated one.
Later came more animated series and two new live-action movies set in a different timeline.

Together they will fight Shredder and the Foot Clan to bring peace to New York City.

Other TMNT stuff available on Netflix
Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)
Animated TV series, Action, Adventure – Available only in Italy
Nickelodeon produced the third TMNT animated series that was aired between 2012 and 2017.
Although the series made several changes to the source material seeking to be less dark than the series from 2003, but not too kiddish like the cartoon from the 80s, it found the correct equilibrium.
There are a total of five seasons, but sadly only the last two are available on Netflix.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018)
Animated TV series, Action, Adventure – Available only in Canada
The latest TMNT animated TV series also produced by Nickelodeon. The series is a reimagined story with several changes from the original one.
Besides fighting crime in New York and the Foot Clan, the turtles embark on mystical adventures revealing the city’s mysteries.
Both seasons are available on Netflix Canada.
Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2019)
Animation, Action, Adventure – 87 min.
Available in Belgium and The Netherlands
Recommended VPN: ExpressVPN or Surfshark
Adapted from the six-issue intercompany crossover from the comic books, Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a direct-to-video film co-produced by Warner Bros. and Nickelodeon.
The story focuses on Batman, Robin, and Batgirl as they team-up with the Turtles to save Gotham City from the chaos unleashed by the joint work of Shredder and Ra’s al Ghul and their sects: the Foot Clan and the League of Assassins.
Summary
If you were a big fan of the heroes in the half-shell back in the 90s, you probably want to watch the original live-action movies just for the sake of nostalgia.
But unless you live in Canada, finding them on Netflix is impossible. Or maybe that’s what you think.
With the help of a VPN like ExpressVPN, you can unblock Netflix Canada and access its catalogue as if you were living there.
So, if TMNT is still your thing, get your VPN subscription. You can watch the movies, some of the animated series and also unblock a lot of more content from other Netflix catalogues and services!
