Then, something weird happens, if you live in the US, you’ll find The Two Towers and The Return of the King, but The Fellowship of the Ring is missing.

What about The Hobbit?

The Hobbit is the trilogy prequel to LotR based on the book of the same name by J.R.R. Tolkien and also directed by Peter Jackson.

The movie follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who sees himself involved in a great journey along with a group of dwarves. Along the way, he will meet a strange creature who possesses a special ring.

The LotR is based on the book trilogy of the same name written by English author J.R.R. Tolkien. The story works as a sequel to The Hobbit novel and became something huge that Tolkien wrote in stages and split into three books.

The movie adaptation follows the same path, and it was split into three movies which adapted each one of the books.

The Fellowship of the Ring

Three hobbits see themselves involved in a great adventure when one of them, Frodo, inherits a ring from his uncle Bilbo.

With the help of Gandalf the Grey, a powerful wizard, they find out the ring was forged thousands of years before by the Dark Lord Sauron to control the Middle Earth.

Now, they must join forces with the elves, the men, and the dwarves to deliver the One Ring to the Mount Doom to be destroyed.

The fellowship has nine members: four hobbits: Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin; two men: Aragorn and Boromir; one elf: Legolas; one wizard: Gandalf; and one dwarf: Gimli.

The Two Towers

The group is split. Frodo and his friend Sam meet Gollum, a strange creature who was the former owner of the One Ring. They decided to use Gollum as a guide in Mordor to reach the Mount Doom.

While Aragorn’s group fights Sauron’s new ally Saruman, a powerful wizard commanding an army of Uruk-hai.

Merry and Pippin get separated from the group, and they met the Ents, tree-like creatures who don’t want to get involved in the war.

Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli reach Rohan where they find out its king is under Saruman’s control. They fight a big battle to set Rohan free and gain new allies.

The Return of the King

The war between good and evil to control the Middle Earth has reached its highest point.

Frodo and Sam continue their way to Mount Doom guided by Gollum to destroy the One Ring.

While Aragorn and Gandalf fight Sauron and his evil army in an attempt to distract him from the One Ring and save the Middle Earth from its dark fate.
