Chris has a passion for helping you watch your favourite TV abroad. When he isn't helping you he can be found watching football, browsing Netflix or watching a good documentary.

If you’ve ever tried to watch Gazzetta.it outside Italy to catch up with either some live sport or other show then you’ll soon find out like I did that you’re blocked from viewing.

While you can easily access the website itself when you go to watch something you’ll be blocked.

I did some research to see if it was possible to avoid this block because I wanted to watch a live football match which wasn’t shown in the country I was in at the time.

In this guide I’m going to show you the easy way in which you watch Gazzetta.it from anywhere in the world to watch sport or any other show available on the website.

How to watch Gazzetta.it outside Italy

When you try to watch something on the Gazzetta website outside Italy especially live sport like Italian football rather than being able to view you’re blocked with a message similar to the one below.

Content blocked

An example of a block message you may see.

The reason you’re blocked from viewing is because of something called your IP Address.

An IP Address is a unique set of numbers that tells the internet where to send the bits of data when you visit a website. Unfortunately one of the negatives of an IP Address is it also tells websites your location.

Gazzetta.it is restricted for viewing from within Italy for most shows especially live sport which is why you end up being blocked.

The great news is you can change your IP Address to one from another country and in the case of Gazzetta one from Italy.

To do this you’ll need a service called a VPN that you can download for your desktop or mobile device and easily alter your IP Address to one from Italy.

Don’t panic because although they sound technical they’re extremely easy to use. Below I’m going to show you where you can get a VPN service and how to use it to watch Gazzetta.it outside Italy.

Where to get a VPN service

If you type the term “VPN” into Google then you’ll be hit with a huge amount of choice that will probably leave you a little overwhelmed.

I’ve been testing some of the better VPN services that have access in Italy and are suitable for streaming video from the Gazzetta.it website to any country in the world.

Below you’ll find my top 3. All you need to do is click on one of their names to visit their site and sign-up.

  1. ExpressVPN
  2. IPVanish
  3. NordVPN

Using the VPN is really easy. Just follow the simple steps below.

Firstly download the software or app for your device of choice. Once installed, login if asked with the details you were supplied when you signed up. Next, choose an Italian server and then press connect.

I’ve put together a little bit more detailed step-by-step guide below using ExpressVPN on a Windows PC but the process is the same on a Mac too. The mobile apps are even easier but in the unlikely event you get stuck you can post in our comments section. The process is exactly the same for the other providers only the layout looks a little different.

  1. Visit the ExpressVPN website and sign-up.
  2. Download the Windows software from the Products section.
  3. Install and run the software.
