You’ve no doubt arrived at this article looking for a solution on how to watch FranceTVSport outside France. The great news is it is possible to unblock France TV Sport and watch it from anywhere in the world even though officially it is restricted to viewing from within France.
FranceTVSport is an excellent online streaming service that shows some top sporting events such as French Football, Rugby, Tennis, Cycling and more. If you’re into football then it’s an excellent place to watch the French League Cup and if football isn’t your game then there is a good selection of other sports streamed live on FranceTVSport.
If you’re in France then all you simply have to do is visit the FranceTVSport website. If on the other hand you’re outside France then you’ll be blocked from viewing with a message like the one below.
Pour des raisons de droits concédés à France Télévisions, cette vidéo n’est pas disponible depuis votre position géographique.
Which roughly translates to “For reasons of rights granted to France Télévisions, this video is not available from your location”.
If you’re trying to watch something and you’re outside France then this isn’t much help so below I’m going to tell you how you can watch FranceTVSport outside France and you’ll be surprised just how easy the solution is.
How To Watch FranceTVSport Outside France
To watch FranceTVSport you need to change your IP Address. An IP Address gives away your location so you need to change it to an IP Address from France.
To get an IP Address from France you’ll need to sign up to a service called a VPN. A VPN allows you to alter your IP Address to another location.
VPN services are offered by many different companies and will cost you between US$5 – $10 per month which is roughly around €4 – €9.
The first feature they must offer is a French connection point, also known as a server. This allows you to watch FranceTVSport outside France.
The second feature they must offer is a good speed. When you watch FranceTVSport via a VPN connection it routes the video via that connection so if the VPN service is slow you’ll suffer buffering and poor playback.
I’ve been testing various VPN services to find out which is the best and have come to the conclusion that ExpressVPN is due to their low price and ease of use. I’ve put together a list of my three favourites to give you some choice.
What to do once you’ve signed up
Once you’ve chosen a VPN provider and signed up you should download and install their software or app.
Each provider listed offers easy to use software for PC and Mac and they also offer apps available from the app store for Android or iOS tablets and phones.
Once you’ve downloaded the required software or app all you need to do is connect to their French server.
This is usually achieved by selecting the French option and pressing connect. Each provider’s connection software and apps are laid out slightly differently but below is an example of ExpressVPN on a Windows PC.
All you need to do is select Choose Location and then click on France.
The app should automatically connect for you but if not press the Connect button.
The software will now take care of the connection and after around 15 seconds let you know it is connected.
Now that you’re connected you are essentially in France as far as any website you visit is concerned. If you visit Google you’ll likely be redirected to the French version of the site at Google.fr and other sites will probably serve you adverts in French.
All that is left to do now is visit the FranceTVSport website and instead of seeing the block message informing you that it is unavailable outside France you’ll be able to watch any of the live or catch-up sport that you want.
When you’ve finished watching FranceTVSport just press Disconnect on the VPN software and your connection returns to normal.
You can reconnect when you want for as long as you keep the VPN service and use it across your range of devices.
Enjoy FranceTVSport outside France!
