How to watch Fox Sports Go overseas easily
Chris
Chris, a UK-born media connoisseur, is an expert in watching international TV. Known as "The Global Screen Wanderer", he has travelled extensively across the globe with long stints away from home. With over 10 years of experience he has become the go-to guru for streaming content from home and abroad.
Fox Sports Go, it’s one of the best ways of watching a wealth of sport in the United States. From Basketball to Baseball and everything in between like Soccer, Boxing and Motor Racing, it seems to have it all and offers a ton of sporting events making it one of the most popular online sports streaming websites in the US.
However if you travel outside the US or you just live outside the States then Fox Sports Go just doesn’t work meaning you can’t watch all your favourite sports from wherever you are in the world.
Great news though, there is an extremely simple way to watch Fox Sports Go overseas from any country in the world.
So if you’re outside the US on vacation, in the military, backpacking or perhaps you’ve never even lived in the US but know someone who has a cable subscription then read on as I’m going to show the amazingly simple steps needed to watch Fox Sports Go overseas easily!
Don’t miss out on the Basketball action.
Why you can’t watch Fox Sports Go overseas directly
No matter where you are in the world your internet connection gives away your location. So if you’re at home in the States, on the beach in Cancun or backpacking around Europe, Fox Sports Go know this from your internet connection and it’s easy for them to stop you watching.
If you’ve tried to watch Fox Sports Go overseas you’ll be able to login but when you go to watch anything you’ll be hit with a message similar to the following.
An error message will greet you overseas.
Of course, the message “Live stream failed to load. Please wait while we try backup streams.” isn’t entirely true, the site is actually just blocking you for viewing so you could wait, however, you’ll be waiting forever and by the time you’ve waited you’ll of missed the sporting event you wanted to watch.
How to watch Fox Sports Go overseas
To watch Fox Sports Go overseas, you’re going to need a service called a VPN or Virtual Private Network. A VPN allows you to both protect your privacy but also disguise your online location. With a VPN you can virtually reside in almost any country in the world.
The simple trick is to virtually reside in the United States. Once you’ve done this Fox Sports Go thinks you are actually in the US and so streams you the sports you want to watch regardless of where you actually are.
You can pick up a VPN service for around $10 per month or less. It can be even cheaper if you sign up for a longer term length such as 6 months or a year, but you can pay monthly too.
There are thousands of VPN providers out there and it can be a complicated task trying to work out those that are good and those that are bad. If you’re like me and many other people you have a hectic lifestyle and you just want to watch Fox Sports Go without the hassle of wading through mountains of different choices.
To save you the time I’ve listed my three favourite VPN providers for watching Fox Sports Go overseas. These three are cheap, reliable and most importantly, fast. This will stop you suffering any buffering or stuttering which would just ruin your sport viewing enjoyment. Feel free to check them out.

Step-by-Step Guide: What to do next
Firstly you’ll need to sign up for a VPN provider. As I said earlier the three above are my recommended choices and ones I’ve personally used. For this example I’m going to use my favourite VPN service, ExpressVPN but the process is pretty much the same for the other two providers, the only difference is the layout of their software.
- Firstly download the software for your device be it PC or Mac. You can also download apps for Android and iOS.
- Install their software or app.
- Once installed simply connect to a server in the United States. With ExpressVPN you can do this by pressing ‘Choose Location’ and then ‘United States’.
- Once it has connected simply visit the Fox Sports Go website and you’ll be able to stream any sport from anywhere in the world.
- It’s possible to use the Android app too but you’ll of needed to have installed this before you left the US.
That is all there is to it. Once you’ve finished simply disconnect and use the internet as normal. The VPN service can be used to access other US based service such as Hulu or Netflix so you’re not limited to just watching Fox Sports Go.
You’ll need a cable subscription in the US to be able to login and watch Fox Sports Go online or if you have a family member or friend who has one you could always ask to “borrow” their login details allowing you to watch all the sporting action on Fox Sports Go no matter what country in the world you’re at.
If you’ve got any questions please feel free to post in our comments section and I’d love to hear how you got on.
