Chris, a UK-born media connoisseur, is an expert in watching international TV. Known as "The Global Screen Wanderer", he has travelled extensively across the globe with long stints away from home. With over 10 years of experience he has become the go-to guru for streaming content from home and abroad.
In this guide I’ll be showing you the quick and easy way you can watch CBBC in any country. It’s a beginner-friendly guide and it’ll take no more than 5 minutes of your time!
CBBC is without question one of the best children’s TV channels in the world. The BBC is known around the globe for creating quality content so it’s little surprise that their children’s channel matches up to this.
If you’re outside the UK however you’ll have a hard time watching CBBC shows, let alone the whole channel itself. If you’ve already visited the BBC iPlayer website or used their app in the hope of watching CBBC then you’re out of luck.
Outside the UK the channel is blocked from access but below I’m going to show you the quick workaround that will let you watch CBBC in any country.
What you need to watch CBBC
To watch CBBC in any country you’ll need to get yourself a small app called a ‘VPN‘.
A VPN allows you to disguise your location and make it appear as if you’re somewhere else. The result of this is that you can watch CBBC on the BBC iPlayer website or app no matter what country you’re in.
This means you can watch CBBC in America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand or anywhere else!
There are hundreds of VPN providers out there but many don’t work with the BBC iPlayer website or app. One that does and is highly recommended is ExpressVPN.
They’re one of the leading providers of VPN services, super easy to use and they come with a huge 30-day money back guarantee so you don’t need to worry if you can’t get it working.
If you’ve got time I’m sure you’re interested in shopping around so the following three are worth a look.

You have one simple job, select one of the above. My favourite is ExpressVPN because their apps are easy to use but they all do practically the same job so you can’t go wrong.

This means you (or your children) at least can watch CBBC in any country from America to Australia and from South Korea to Spain.
There aren’t any limits on the ExpressVPN app so you’re free to watch as much CBBC as you wish. It’s also worth checking out the rest of the BBC iPlayer service because you’re not just limited to watching CBBC, you can watch a whole host of TV shows.

How to get the app for CBBC
If you want to watch CBBC on a computer running Windows or Mac then this is certainly the easiest method. You don’t need any additional apps to access the BBC iPlayer site.
If however you fancy watching on a tablet or phone then you’ll need to get the BBC iPlayer app.
If you’re not a UK citizen or at least didn’t buy and register your device in the UK then it can be difficult to get hold of the BBC iPlayer app directly.
It’s worth visiting your regular app store first to see if you can download directly. Either the Google Play Store, Apple iOS App Store or the Amazon App store for the Fire TV / Fire TV Stick.
If you can’t download the app directly then you’ll need to ‘sideload’ it.
For Android, you can use your mobile web-browser and get it from APKPure.
If you’ve got an Apple iOS device like the iPad or iPhone then you’ll need to follow this guide to get the BBC iPlayer app installed.
For the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, you can first change your region on the Amazon store to download the BBC iPlayer app. After installing it you can switch your region back.
In Summary
If you want to stream CBBC in any country around the world then you’re going to need to get a VPN app.
A VPN will allow you to change your online location so you can appear elsewhere.
This will unblock the CBBC channel on either the BBC iPlayer app or their website.
Click the button below to get my recommended provider ExpressVPN. They’ve got a 30-day money back guarantee so it’s completely risk-free.
It’s also worth signing up for their 12-month package because it comes with 3-months free making it nearly 50% cheaper than paying on a monthly basis. This means your kids can watch as much CBBC as they want for as long as they want.
Once you’ve signed up download their app and connect to the UK. You can then watch CBBC either on the BBC iPlayer app or on their website.
What country have you been watching CBBC in? I would love to know so feel free to post in the comments section below.
