“Welcome to the party, pal!”
Now before we even start to discuss whether Die Hard is on Netflix or not, there is one crucial matter we need to cover.
Die Hard IS a Christmas movie, there is no question about it.
And those of you who think it’s not, well, you’re almost as bad as Hans Gruber.
Anyway, now we have cleared the air, let’s discuss the matter at hand.
You are currently reading this as you may have been wondering if Die Hard is on Netflix?
Luckily for you, I have the answer to this question and can show you how to access this Christmas movie from anywhere in the world.
Can I watch Die Hard on Netflix?
You’ll be happy to know, Yes, you can.
However you will need to have access to the Swiss Netflix library, and unless you are living in Switzerland, you won’t have access.
You see, the Swiss Netflix catalogue is, at the time of writing, the only Netflix region to have every Die Hard movie and there are only one or two other countries like Thailand that has a few of the films.
But, that is where I come in. I have a way that will have you watching the world’s best festive action movie in a matter of minutes.
Best of all, it’s easier than you might think.
How to watch Die Hard where I am?
Unlocking Die Hard on Netflix is more painless than gaining access to Nakatomi Plaza on Christmas Eve
All you need to do to unlock the movies is use an internet security tool known as a VPN.
You may have heard the term VPN before, but if you haven’t, let me explain.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) was originally developed to help increase your security while you are browsing the internet, protecting all of your private information from being stolen by companies, marketers, hackers, and even local governments.
However, in recent years many VPN users have been using their VPNs to gain access to other region’s content such as different Netflix libraries.
By connecting to a VPN, your internet traffic is sent through a server located in another country; this tricks streaming services such as Netflix into thinking you are in another region, giving you full access to the Netflix catalog of that country.
For example; joining a Swiss server would give you access to Netflix Switzerland and therefore access to all of the Die Hard movies.
Where to get a VPN?
There is a large number of VPN services on the market, it’s easy to get confused while trying to figure out which one is the best.
Luckily for you, I have been testing VPNs for years and at the moment CyberGhost VPN is your best choice of VPN provider when it comes to accessing Netflix and unlocking other region’s content.
CyberGhost has over 6000 high-speed servers around the world that you can connect to at will, giving you access to 4K UHD streams of all your favourite video content.
Best of all, CyberGhost VPN offers a 45-day money-back guarantee, so your investment is completely risk-free. If it doesn’t live up to your expectations, then you can get your money back.
While CyberGhost is my top pick for you to access Die Hard on Netflix, you may want to check out NordVPN and Surfshark VPN. Both offer outstanding services, however, they may not work with Swiss Netflix because in my tests, only CyberGhost did.

What’s Die Hard all about?
There are five films in the Die Hard series, all available on Netflix. Here’s a round up of what each is about (no spoilers!).
NYPD cop John McClane is travelling to the Nakatomi Plaza, California to surprise his wife for Christmas Eve, however, things take a turn for the worse when a group of terrorists hijacks the building.
With all of the building’s workers being held hostage, and being the type of guy John is, he decides to take it upon himself to infiltrate the building and take down the terrorists before they achieve their goal.
This film is one of the classic action movies that once you watch it, you’ll never forget it, and I’m sure that you’ll be adding it to your Christmas movie list.
Verdict: Definitely a Christmas movie, 100%, and you won’t convince me otherwise.
Die Hard 2: Die Harder
John McClane is back, and this time he is facing a whole new terrorist threat.
When a group of terrorists take over an airport, they threaten to destroy it if a powerful drug lord named Ramon Esperanza isn’t released from prison.
Unfortunately for the terrorists, John is at the airport waiting for his wife to come back from her travels, and as we know from the first movie, he knows exactly how to dispose of a few terrorists.
I almost feel sorry for the terrorists, they have no idea what they have got themselves into.
Verdict: Christmas movie… Just.
Die Hard: With a Vengeance
A mysterious villain known as Simon has planted bombs all over New York City and sends John McClane on a series of increasingly tougher challenges in return for the bombs being defused.
However, there is a darker plot afoot, and John finds himself in the middle of yet another terrorist plot.
John teams up with a convenience store owner (Samuel L. Jackson) to help him bring down the terrorists before they blow up half of the city.
The guy just can’t catch a break, can he?
Verdict: Unfortunately, not a Christmas movie.
Live Free Or Die Hard
The FBI’s Cyber Crime division assigns John McClane the task of tracking down a notorious hacker who has broken into the government’s computer systems in a bid to disable key elements of the United States’ infrastructure.
Years may have passed, and John may be getting older, but he is still capable of causing some major problems for the cyber terrorists.
They shouldn’t underestimate this washed-up cop.
With many twists and turns, plus plenty of action, you will enjoy getting your action movie fix with this instalment of the Die Hard franchise.
Verdict: Not a Christmas movie.
A Good Day To Die Hard
This instalment of the Die Hard franchise sees John McClane travelling outside of the United States and finds himself in Moscow, Russia, in a bid to help his wayward son, Jack.
Unknown to John, his son is, in fact, an undercover CIA agent working to bring down a terrorist cell.
With Jack’s plans thrown out of the window when his Dad arrives, the pair of them team up to bring down the criminals in the only way they know-how.
Expect plenty of explosions and great action scenes with this one.
Verdict: Not a Christmas movie.
As you can clearly see, the first two movies are Christmas movies (I’m not letting this one go), the others, however, aren’t. But one thing they all have in common… they are packed full of action that will certainly get the blood pumping.
